EHS Regulatory Framework and Management System and Sustainability Program for the Abu Dhabi Tourism Sector

7th Sense was engaged by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) to develop and implement an EHS Regulatory Framework and Management System and Sustainability Program for the Abu Dhabi Tourism Sector covering all hotels and hotel apartments, tourism operators, tourism destinations and tourism developers.

Our services included:

• engagement and consultation with regulated tourism sector entities to assess sector-wide environmental and occupational health & safety (EHS) risks and sustainability performance;
• the region's first sustainability baseline and benchmarking study to assess hotel performance in energy, water and waste;
• establishment of sector-wide EHS and sustainability policy objectives, targets / KPIs, management system and industry initiatives to support compliance with the new regulations, including energy, water and waste initiatives;
• the world's first green / sustainability hotel building design guidelines;
• a world acclaimed and emirate-wide Green Hotels Program including the world's first Green Hotel Building Design and Operational Guidelines, a web-based portal for reporting and benchmarking hotel performance, green hotel workshops and industry sustainability initiatives. 
• development and delivery of sector-wide training including general awareness and sustainability technical training for more than 3,000 tourism sector executives, managers, engineers and operational staff.
